What it is
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent. Meta's launch post says, "Muse is a personal AI agent. It doesn't just answer questions, it actually does the work"1. Muse's own site describes it as a personal AI agent from Meta: you give it a goal or task and it works on it2.
Under the hood it is powered by Muse Spark, which Meta calls its most capable model to date1. Muse Spark was the first in a new series of large language models built by Meta Superintelligence Labs3. In October 2026 Meta added Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, which it calls "our most capable models to date," and said Muse Wonder will soon power experiences in Muse, starting with subscribers4.
My plan
I have one Muse subscription, on the top paid plan. As of November 5, 2026, Meta's Help Center lists two paid Muse plans: Power at $20 a month, with "500M Muse tokens per week," and Maximum at $100 a month, with "3B Muse tokens per week"5. Muse is also free with a usage limit, though the page gives no figure for it5. The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel5.
The name matters, so here is what I found. Meta's Muse pages call the top plan "Maximum," not "Max"5. The word "Max" shows up elsewhere at Meta, on Meta One, a separate bundle of subscriptions for its apps, where Max is a creator and business bundle listed from $499 a month6. I'm on the Muse plan, so the price I use is the $100 Maximum plan.
Meta's page doesn't label the currency on these prices, and it doesn't define what a "Muse token" is5. Subscriptions are sold at muse.ai and in the mobile app, and Meta says Muse and its subscriptions "are in limited testing and aren't available in all locations yet"5.
What it's good at
Meta says Muse "helps people stay on top of things, takes tasks and projects off their plate, and turns long-term goals into action plans"1. Its examples include sending emails, booking travel, and filling out forms in a browser, and it can keep working after the app is closed1. Each user gets a cloud computer: "Muse Secure VM is a persistent, isolated Linux computer with a full browser"2. Those are Meta's descriptions, not my testing.
Meta also describes guardrails. Muse "checks with the person before sensitive actions like sending an email or making a purchase," and a separate Sentinel agent must approve any traffic to the internet before it leaves the machine1. Meta says Muse "has no visibility into people's passwords or payment methods"1.
The honest limits are about maturity. Meta calls the first Muse Spark model "small and fast by design" and "an early data point on our trajectory"3. For Muse Wonder, Meta says a full report with additional safety evaluations "will be available soon"4. Muse launched in the US on iOS, Android, and muse.ai on September 8, 20261, and the subscription page says it is still in limited testing in some places5.
What I use it for
General AI work.
The company
Muse is made by Meta Platforms, Inc., which began as TheFacebook, Inc. on February 4, 2004, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Its founders were Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Andrew McCollum, and Chris Hughes, and it renamed itself Meta Platforms in 20217. Meta's annual report says it was incorporated in Delaware in July 2004 and that its principal offices are at 1 Meta Way, Menlo Park, California8.
Meta is publicly traded; its Class A stock trades on Nasdaq as META8. The annual report names "Mark Zuckerberg, our founder, Chairman, and CEO," and says he can exercise a majority of the voting power8. Meta's mission, in its words, is to "build the future of human connection and the technology that makes it possible"8.
For the third quarter of 2026, Meta reported revenue of $64.6 billion, up 26% from a year earlier, and a headcount of 66,7759. It expects 2026 capital expenditures of $135 to $145 billion9. In that report, Zuckerberg cited the launch of Muse and Muse Wonder, which he called "our first frontier model," and Meta's CFO said its Superintelligence Labs investments "will take longer to generate returns than those in our core business"9. I didn't find a separate funding round or acquisition tied to Muse on the pages I opened.
